Job description
As a general operative, you work on the shop floor to produce templates and fender systems. You carry out interim checks on the produced fenders.
You know/learn how to read working drawings and interpret these correctly. You may also be asked to mount or dismount fenders on site, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Your duties include
- Producing templates and marine fender systems
- Carrying out interim checks on the produced fenders systems
- Correctly reading/interpreting working drawings on the shop floor
- Mounting and dismounting marine fenders on site
Requirements:
- Senior vocational education in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, construction or similar demonstrable experience, although applicants with general vocational education will also be considered.
- Experience in marine engineering is preferred
- Correctly reading/interpreting working drawings on the shop floor
- Great precision and dimensional accuracy
- Holding at least a category B driving licence, preferably also category E
- Good command of spoken and written Dutch and/or English.
- No 9-to-5 mentality
Skills
As a general operative, you need to be flexible, critical, a team player and have good problem-solving skills. You also need to be hard-working, capable of working under pressure, proactive, commercially aware, responsible, motivating, service-minded, and have good social and communication skills.
